1. Who we are and what this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how the owner of the website irelandbetlabel.com (the "Site", "we", "us") handles personal data about the people who visit it ("you"). The Site is an English-language information portal about the BetLabel betting and casino brand, written for readers in Ireland aged 18 or over.
The Site is not a gambling operator. It does not open gambling accounts, take bets, deposits or payments, or ask for identity or financial details. If you follow a link to the operator's site, any data you enter there is handled by the operator as a separate controller under its own privacy policy.
For any privacy question, you can contact the controller of the data collected through the Site at info@irelandbetlabel.com.
2. Legal framework
We process personal data in line with Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), and the Data Protection Act 2018. Storing information on your device, or reading it from there, is also governed by the European Communities (Electronic Communications Networks and Services) (Privacy and Electronic Communications) Regulations 2011 (S.I. No. 336 of 2011, the "ePrivacy Regulations").
3. What personal data we process
We only process the data the Site needs to run:
- Technical and access data: IP address, date and time of the visit, page requested, referring page, browser type and version, operating system and error messages, logged automatically by our hosting servers.
- Contact data you choose to send: email address, name and the content of your message, only if you write to us.
The Site sets no cookies of its own and stores nothing on your device (see the Cookie Policy). We do not process special categories of data under Article 9 of the GDPR, we do not build user profiles and we take no decisions based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects on you (Article 22 of the GDPR).
4. Purposes and legal bases
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Running the Site and keeping it secure, including preventing abuse and attacks | Technical and access data | Legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f) |
| Replying to questions, suggestions and complaints | Contact data you choose to send | Steps taken at your request and legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(b) and (f) |
| Meeting legal obligations and answering public authorities | The data needed in each case | Legal obligation, Article 6(1)(c) |
If we ever use audience measurement or advertising tools that are not strictly necessary, we will only do so with your prior consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR and Regulation 5 of the ePrivacy Regulations. You can withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdraw it.
5. Children
The Site is meant only for people aged 18 or over, the legal age for gambling in Ireland. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you learn that a child has sent us personal data, write to info@irelandbetlabel.com and we will delete it.
6. Who receives the data
Service providers acting on our behalf may process data as processors under Article 28 of the GDPR, in particular providers of hosting, content delivery networks (CDN) and IT security, who are bound by contract to confidentiality and security obligations.
We may also disclose data to courts, An Garda Síochána or other public bodies where the law requires it. We never sell or rent personal data to third parties.
Links to the operator's site or to other third-party sites take you away from the Site. Those sites have their own privacy and cookie policies, for which we are not responsible.
7. International transfers
If a service provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, the transfer only takes place with the safeguards set out in Articles 44 to 49 of the GDPR, such as an adequacy decision of the European Commission or the standard contractual clauses adopted by the Commission.
8. How long we keep data
- Technical server logs: up to 90 days, unless they are needed for longer to investigate a security incident.
- Messages and requests received by email: as long as needed to reply and then for up to 12 months, or for the applicable limitation period if a dispute arises.
When these periods end, the data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.
9. Your rights
Under Articles 15 to 21 of the GDPR you can exercise the following rights at any time:
- The right of access to the data about you.
- The right to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- The right to erasure ("the right to be forgotten").
- The right to restriction of processing.
- The right to data portability for the data you gave us.
- The right to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- The right to withdraw consent, where processing relies on it, without affecting earlier processing.
To exercise these rights, send a request to info@irelandbetlabel.com. We will reply within one month of receiving it. Under Article 12(3) of the GDPR that period can be extended by two further months where the complexity or number of requests makes it necessary. Exercising your rights is free unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive. We may ask for further information to confirm your identity.
10. Complaints to the Data Protection Commission
If you believe that the processing of your data breaks data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy. In Ireland, the supervisory authority is the Data Protection Commission, 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28, www.dataprotection.ie.
11. Security
We apply technical and organisational measures suited to the risk, as Article 32 of the GDPR requires. They include encrypted connections over HTTPS, access control on our systems and collecting as little data as possible. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information sent to us.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the law or the way the Site works changes. The current version is always available on this page, together with the date of the last update.
